That’s completely okay. Many people come to therapy unsure of where to begin or how to put their feelings into words. We can gently explore what’s going on for you, together, and often the starting point becomes clearer as we talk.

Sessions are usually offered on a weekly or fortnightly basis, as regular sessions can be helpful in building momentum and supporting the therapeutic process. However, I understand that everyone’s circumstances are different, so this can be flexible and we can discuss what feels manageable for you.

Individual therapy sessions are 60 minutes long.
For couples therapy, we begin with an initial 60-minute individual session with each partner. This gives each person the opportunity to share their perspective and what has brought them to therapy. Following this, joint couples sessions are 75 minutes long, allowing space to explore the relationship together in more depth.

How long each person stays in counselling is dependent upon their individual circumstances. I see people for short, medium and long-term counselling so there is no set limit on the number of sessions you can have and it is always your choice whether or not to continue with therapy.

Face-to-face sessions take place in my private garden room in Quorn, Leicestershire. There is a coffee machine to help you settle into the space and free on-street parking available.

I offer online sessions via Zoom. I’ll send you a private Zoom link to use for our sessions, so you can join easily each time.

Individual sessions costs £55 and joint couples or families sessions cost £70. These can be paid in cash or via bank transfer.
The initial telephone consultation is free of charge.

Each person’s first session is different. You may want to spend time settling in, building our therapeutic relationship and talking more generally about what has brought you to counselling.
Alternatively, you may want to focus on a specific issue which is important to you, or you may be somewhere in between. Whatever path your first session takes I will be there to support your individual needs at a pace that suits you.
