Individual Counselling
Individual therapy sessions offer a dedicated space for us to talk openly about whatever may be on your mind, whether that’s current difficulties, past experiences, relationships, or patterns that feel hard to understand or shift.
What happens in a counselling session?
I shape each session around you and your needs. Some sessions may focus on exploring thoughts and feelings in the present, while others may involve looking more deeply at past experiences and how they may still be impacting you now. There is no set agenda, and we work at a pace that feels manageable for you.
Drawing on different counselling techniques, I support you in making sense of your experiences so that you can develop a greater understanding of yourself, your emotions, and the patterns that influence the way you think, feel, and respond.
At times, therapy can also be a place to process and come to terms with things that cannot be changed, helping you to move forward with more clarity, self-compassion, and confidence.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Deciding whether therapy is right for you can feel like a big step. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting. Often, it begins with a feeling that something doesn’t feel quite right, or a sense that you’d like to better understand yourself and your experiences. Therapy can be helpful for anyone wanting wanting to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences, whatever they may be, whether you’re facing a specific issue, feeling overwhelmed, or simply feeling stuck.
A good way to find out if therapy is right for you is through reaching out. Before beginning regular sessions, I offer an initial 15-minute Zoom call for us to connect.
This gives us the chance to talk about what has brought you to therapy, what you hope to gain, and for you to ask any questions you may have. It’s also an opportunity for both of us to get a sense of whether we feel like the right fit for one another.
There is no pressure to book after this call, and you are welcome to take some time to think about it.
